I know.....what the heck is a JPCooler!!!  Well, ever notice that regular hard coolers do not really fit in a Jeep?  It is so much of a problem that we build outside racks to hold them!  Have you also noticed that most soft side coolers are only big enough for a 6-pack of cans and they are usually too flimsy to keep ice for more than an hour? Rich, of JPCoolers, has come up with a soft side cooler that fits perfect in that odd space behind the back seat of a standard Jeep.  It is soft sided 56qt that it is big,  enough to hold water for the trail as well as sodas for lunch and still keep some fruit and veggies cold.  It is also thick and heavy enough to keep ice all day.  It even comes with a utility bag to keep other stuff in.

Then to top it off, he came out with a smaller one, 28qt  that is perfect for short runs or a picnic in the park!!

The details.....well, ya really need to check out their website for the true details, they have a lot of information there:

I am here to tell you how they handle real life, not all that advertizing stuff.  In real life they work, that is it, they do exactly what they are designed to do and that is keep my stuff COLD!!!  They have a lot of fancy features, but for me, the handles are strong, the thing stands up and it keeps stuff cold for a long time.  It does not leak in my vehicle unless I turn it over and being a soft side unit, it will conform to where I want to put it. With two compartments, I can put drinks and ice in one side and then put dry stuff in the other...like sandwiches, chips and such.  It also has replaceable liners so if one tears you are not going to have to throw the whole thing out.

I purchased a large one and a small one and have used both in several different vehicles, these are defiantly NOT just a Jeep cooler.  First let me say that I was not going to buy one as I have an Unlimited Jeep so my storage area is larger and "I don't need a special cooler to fit my Jeep", Wrong idea, these are far more than that, yes it fits great in the back of my Jeep, but it also fits in my Samurai as well as my F-250.  The 28qt unit will fit on the floor behind the seat and it fits PERFECT on the floor hump of the F250 right behind the center console, puts it out of the way but still in easy access and we can still have 4 people sit comfortably in the truck.  Another GREAT point is that they do not "Slosh" near as much as a hard cooler....you know, hearing the water, ice and cans or bottles sloshing back and forth in the hard cooler is enough to drive ya nuts!!

We also use our unit in the 5th Wheel.  If you are a camper like us, you know the hassles a cooler can cause, they are bulky and they do not fit anywhere.  These are perfect and can even fit under the table without moving the leg.  once they are empty, you can collapse them down some and store them in a cabinet till they are needed again.  Try that with a hard cooler.

I have had my 2 JPCoolers now for just over 6 months, I have used them a lot and have been intentionally "not nice" to them.  I have not tried to ruin them but have not babied them  as I wanted to see how they would hold up and I have been very happy.  The straps and handles are strong and have not pulled away from the nylon at all.  The rigid bottom comes back into shape after being twisted.  I have smashed mine completely flat with out trying to fold it and it will come back to shape and stand up.  The zippers are heavy duty but they work smoothly.  Overall construction is very good as is the packaging they originally come in.  Overall, I have been very impressed with my coolers, there are still times when you will need that old hard side cooler, so don't toss it out just yet, but for taking on the road, the JPCooler is my choice, hands down.

These coolers are available from some local companies here in the Valley and are also available to order on-line please check out their website for more information on purchasing one of these units.   Click the picture below to access the site.
