Drager

The wife and I needed some work done in the back and sides of the house, we had not done the landscaping pending the lawsuit against Continental, the home builder. We looked at a lot of different avenues but did not feel qualified to do it ourselves and did not have the available cash...after the lawyers ate it all...to hire a big company. My wife started looking on Craigslist for someone that would take our quads in trade for the labor. We found a couple for this work and some inside work, some were not what we were looking for and one seemed perfect but when he came to the house for the estimate, well, he seemed to be floating a little higher than normal. My wife asked that he not be under any chemical influence when he came to the house and he got upset and refused the work...we were at a loss and still no closer to getting the work done.

Once more she headed into Cragslist.  That's when she found Jayden and Drager Landscaping.

Jayden understands that the economy is rough on a lot of us but we still need to have work done.  He told us up front that he was willing to take things in trade for the labor but that materials needed to paid for.  That was agreeable to us and he had considered getting a quad so was interested in the deal.  That was another point we talked about was that he would only take stuff in trade that he needed or could use, again, not a problem for us.   We set up a meeting for him to look at our mess and help us figure out what to do.  We wanted LOW maintenance, a fire pit, a shed pad, rocks, some plants and automatic watering.  Jayden gave us a bid and we agreed on a start time.

To start the Job, there was a lot of initial labor to clean up the area and get it ready, we had the left over block for knocking out the fence for the double gate, we had a lot of river rock that I had intended to use but never got to, with all the rain, the weeds had gotten terrible and an old shed that had to be  torn down......it was just a terrible mess.  The crew made short order of cleaning it up and getting started on the other parts of the project. The east side was cleaned up and leveled for and area to park the trailers.

Cleaned and leveled side trailer parking.

The double gates had already been built and installed but needed the threshold underneath.  The crew formed up and laid a concrete threshold in and added drain pipes to allow the water to run out during the rain.  Once the concrete is fully dried, they will drill down and place the stop bar.  The rock will come up to the threshold to level it all off.  The crew also finished the pillars for the shorter rear double gates at the back of the house, pictures to follow on those.

Next was a concrete pad placed into the south-west corner that would be big enough for an 8'x6' shed to be built.  This corner was a real problem area as the weeds were real thick and grown up thru the river rock that was here.  The rock was real deep here as we had piled the extra rock in this corner waiting to use it.  They cleaned the corner up and leveled it out before putting in the pad.

The crew set in some drip lines and planted two trees and bushes across the back fence. The drip line was attached to the water and a timer set up.

On to the air conditioner.  A small part of the problems with the house (one of the issues with Continental) was that  the ground was not properly graded and the A/C unit was set 4 inches low.  When it rained, the water would pool up close to the house.  Even when the ground was re-graded, water still pooled at the A/C unit.  Raising the unit and pouring a new pad risked damage to the unit so we were advised to build a small wall around the unit and build up the ground around that.  Jayden's crew made it look like it was meant to be that way!!  Last of the base work was to cap the fire pit, put the stucco around the side.   Manuel did a great job on the pit.

All the base work is done!!! Now to Finish...

With the base work done, it was time to finish up.  Jayden brought in two trailer loads of rock and they set to spreading it out.  He left the excess pieces of flagstone at our request.  Now we have to find some patio furniture!

For future work, we are looking at a flagstone sitting area and walkway to the shed and also having Jayden work out the front landscaping.  For now, I will be putting in a shed and building the rear gates for the trailer area.

We even got full approval from the masters of the house.

Jayden is a Licensed Contractor and a Christian family man that we will invite back to our home to do more beautiful work.  We have been very impressed with him, his workers and his work ethic.  We also will recommend him to anyone needing an outside contractor.  In times like these, you need a company that is as concerned about the cost as you are, Drager Landscaping fit that bill for us.......Thank you Jayden and we will see you again soon.

Jayden is building a company website at Drager Landscaping. Please take a minute to look around and then call him for an estimate of your next project.
