Sixteen of us met at our church on a warm Saturday morning
with AZFJ and all 6 of his kids, one of them, Sid-the-Sloth, riding
one of my quads and the rest in the Cruiser with him My son, Samurai_Bean and I on our quads. Del Budke with Michael and
Kevin in his Cherokee. Jim and Sharon Cook on their quad and Jim Hersey in his Pathfinder. Soon we were joined by three
work friends of AZFJ. Pat in a modified Toy pickup, Ryan on a
quad and Aaron in a (for now) stock Chevy truck.

We started a bit late due to an unforeseen delay but were on
the road about 7:30 and made it to the unload area with no
problems. The quads were unloaded and some of the trucks
aired down and we set out in search of happiness! This
first run for Kreation Krawlers was intended to be a mild run
with lots of side play areas for those with the more capable
rigs, however, the rains of the summer changed this trail more
than expected and some of the hills were a bit tough on the
stock rigs!

All in all we only had to break out the tow straps twice and
one of those was me finding an unexpected ledge in the water at
the third cove!! The other strapee will go un-named!
We also had the unusual surprise to find a reptilian friend on
our venture that was sunning himself , where we needed to
drive!!, we convinced him to move off under the bush and the run
continued.

Our objective was to make it into 4 of the lake coves and play
in and around the water but to play on the hills on the way
there and we definitely got a good group of each.

We did get a little excitement when Pat chose to run the
crevice down a small hill. The hill wasn't bad but the crevice
was deeper than it looks and strangely laid in. Now, as you can
see Pat's truck is a very capable rig and with twin t-cases he
has plenty of low range to play. He was doing great and
then his front left tire slipped and dropped in the hole!!
Well, we took the time to check out the underside of his truck!

He drove on thru the the hole after the photo and was not
worried, he has been in that position many times, for us though, it
looked like he was gonna flop!

One thing I did fail to mention, about three quarters of the
way thru the run, Ryan fried the clutch in his quad on a hill
climb and had to go piggyback in Aarons truck for the remainder
of the trip, we hope the cost is not too bad on the repairs.
The remainder of the trail ride went with no additional
incidents. We all made it home safe after a very enjoyable
day of wheeling. Kreation Krawler would like to
thank Aaron, Ryan and Pat for joining us on the run and hope
that they can be there for other trail rides also.
